Job summary

Monarch Quantum is seeking a Robotics Process Engineer 1 to help build foundational engineering practices in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work both independently and with a team, plan data collection, analyze results, and communicate findings to leadership as we scale.

The role emphasizes hands-on work across mechanical, optical, and scripting tasks, with opportunities to grow and take on broader responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or related field.
• Experience planning, data collection, and analysis to communicate results.
• Hands-on experience with basic machine shop tools.
• Knowledge of optical concepts (polarization, refraction, diffraction).
• Scripting experience with Matlab or Python.

Job description

Join our fast-paced and passionate team as a Robotics Process Engineer 1. As we scale, you will be instrumental in building our foundation from the ground up. This is a dynamic, hands-on role for a self-starter who thrives in a fluid startup environment. You'll have the opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies, work closely with leadership, and develop and implement engineering practices that support our mission and growth. Your key responsibilities are as follows:

• Work independently and in a team while over-communicating with the manager and the teammates.
• Use educational background, experience and reasoning skills to plan, collect and analyze data/information and communicate the process and the results for assigned tasks.
• Use tenacity, patience, self-discipline and passion for excellence to responsibly make and keep made commitments.
• Use every opportunity to grow competency thru mentorship, curiosity, communication, exposure and initiative.

Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Physics, or a related field and a minimum

Skills:

• Basic understanding of material properties, components, mechanisms, fabrication methods.
• Basic understanding of structural, heat and mass transfer theory.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical CAD software and quantitative analysis/programming tools and hands-on experience with basic machine shop tools.
• Basic knowledge of optical concepts such as polarization, refraction, diffraction, lensing.
• Basic knowledge of simple software scripting tools such as Matlab, or Python.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $70,000-$120,000.
