Job summary

FANUC America Corporation located in Rochester Hills, MI, seeks a Process Engineer to develop and maintain detailed project plans for robotic automation systems. You will oversee mechanical, pneumatic, and process requirements, and lead design reviews while coordinating cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes customer-focused problem solving, hands-on field troubleshooting of pneumatic systems, and travel to customer sites as needed. Strong CAD experience and simulation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in mechanical system engineering, design, and robotic integration.
• Experience with CAD software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ROBOGUIDE.
• Knowledge of 3D and discrete-event simulation methods.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications for planning and meeting requirements.
• Lead development of vacuum tooling and vacuum infrastructure.
• Plan, request, follow-up, and approve all mechanical engineering issues.
• Attend internal and customer project kick-off meetings and provide technical expertise.
• Coordinate delivery and return of project documentation for customer approval.
• Travel to customer sites (~30% travel) for testing and debugging.
