Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with 2 years in an industrial or similar environment; a two-year technical degree or electrical license is helpful.

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in industrial, commercial, or military maintenance environment. (strongly preferred)
  • Must have skills in electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and repair of automated equipment.
  • Familiar with use and operation of programmable logic controllers, along with writing/installing and troubleshooting ladder logics.
  • Two year Technical Degree, electrical certificate or license helpful.
  • Machine tools and/or welding skills a must.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • The maintenance technician will perform a variety of multi trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance or repair of equipment, machinery, and facility; for the generation, distribution and utilization of electrical energy.
  • The maintenance technician will also perform any duties necessary to maintain machinery, equipment, systems or facilities in a state of good, safe working condition.
  • These duties will include troubleshooting, repair, installation or removal and replacement, basic design, simple fabrication, adjustment, rebuilding, welding, etc.
