Job summary

Mergon Moulded Plastics in Anderson, SC is seeking a Robotics & PLC Controls Engineer to design, program, and sustain PLC, HMI, and robot systems across automated cells. You’ll diagnose issues, implement improvements, and ensure peak uptime with a focus on safety and reliability.

You’ll collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to drive root-cause investigations and document standards. The role offers growth in advanced automation within a collaborative plant environment.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics or related field.
5+ years in industrial automation in a manufacturing setting.
Hands-on PLC, HMI, and robot programming and troubleshooting.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Program, troubleshoot, and sustain PLC, HMI, and robotic systems across automated manufacturing cells.
Keep automated equipment running at peak uptime and efficiency through proactive support.
Diagnose issues spanning controls, electrical, and automation domains.
Lead root-cause investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Support equipment installs, commissioning, and production launches.
Create and maintain controls documentation, electrical schematics, and plant standards.
Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to elevate plant performance.
Spot and deliver improvements in productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
