Job summary

Zendar in Berkeley is seeking a recent graduate for a 6-month intern-to-hire role spanning perception, controls, simulation, and robot applications. You will design experiments and build tools to evaluate our autonomy stack, while working closely with ML and control engineers.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a technical Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Proficiency in Python; C++ is a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux environments.
• Experience using agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex).
• Experience designing experiments and applying statistical analysis to real-world data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to drive loosely defined projects and adapt to evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and run experiments to measure system performance across perception models and controllers.
• Build and extend Python tools for evaluation, data analysis, and visualization.
• Support simulation workflows, data collection, and hands-on testing with vehicles, robots, and sensors.
• Prototype and evaluate robotic applications, such as security monitoring and container inventory management.
• Present findings to ML, controls, and product engineering teams to track and resolve issues.
