Job summary

Bee Talent Solutions is assisting a robotics-focused client in Cambridge, MA to hire Robot Operators at an exciting growth stage. You will work with engineering, product and research teams, providing hands-on feedback that informs product direction and system capabilities.

You should be comfortable in fast-moving, hands-on environments, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical observations clearly.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work for extended periods using a VR headset.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long hours.
  • Proficiency with Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • US work authorization and driver’s license.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate robotic prototypes for extended periods using VR headsets.
  • Collect data to improve models by demonstrating tasks and evaluating autonomous behavior.
  • Execute data collection missions on onsite and offsite locations.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to engineering teams to support product improvement.
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, partners, or investors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on robotic systems.
  • Set up, tear down, and maintain robot testing equipment and environments.
  • Operate company vehicles to transport equipment between locations.
  • Participate in projects to improve tools, workflows, or operational processes.

Job description

We are helping our client find Robot Operators to join its team at an early and exciting stage of the company’s growth. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineering, product, and research. Your feedback will directly influence product direction, system capabilities, and operational workflows.

We welcome candidates from diverse professional backgrounds, including (but not limited to) STEM fields, aviation, operations, manufacturing, maker communities, entrepreneurship, and military experience.

We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working individuals with a passion for building and improving real-world technology. You’re comfortable working in fast-moving, hands-on environments, are detail-oriented, and can clearly communicate technical observations. You’re excited to contribute directly to the advancement of robotics.

As a Robot Operator, you will:
  • Safely operate physical and simulated robotic prototypes for extended periods of time using virtual reality headsets and controllers.
  • Collect data to improve the company's models by demonstrating tasks and evaluating autonomous behavior.
  • Execute data collection missions on onsite company and offsite deployed locations.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and actionable feedback to engineering and development teams to support product improvement and issue resolution.
  • Represent the company and its technology in a professional manner when interacting with customers, partners, or investors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on robotic systems.
  • Set up, tear down, and maintain robot testing equipment and environments.
  • Operate company vehicles to transport equipment between onsite and offsite locations.
  • Participate in projects to improve tools, workflows, or operational processes.
  • Experience with video gaming, virtual reality systems, or remote-operated platforms (e.g., drones, robotics, or similar technologies)
  • Demonstrated proficiency through competitions, public portfolios, streaming platforms, or other verifiable experience
  • Familiarity with command-line interfaces, GitHub or version-controlled environments
  • Note we need to ensure folks are ok with the VR aspect and are not prone to getting motion sickness after doing the VR for such long times!

Required skills
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work for extended periods using a virtual reality (VR) headset, with sufficient spatial awareness to safely operate robotic systems
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Proficiency using Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems and office productivity tools.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to safely operate company vehicles
  • Authorization to work in the United States (U.S. citizenship required for this role due to business or legal requirements)
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute

M-F - 8-6ish - can be flexible for a slightly earlier start, but mainly during business hours to start
