You will deploy, monitor, and maintain robots, provide detailed observations that support robotics system improvements. This onsite contractor role in San Francisco requires performing robotic deployment, monitoring, and repetitive physical work, with safety procedures and clear documentation.

About this role

OpenTrain is recruiting for a Robotics Operations Technician to support hands‑on robot operation and real‑world AI training data work in a commercial environment. You will deploy, monitor, and maintain robots, help sustain reliable performance, and provide detailed observations that support robotics system improvements.

What you will do

Deploy and operate robots in commercial scenarios while supporting consistent uptime and performance. Observe repetitive robot tasks and identify bugs, hardware failures, and other performance issues. Document incidents and technical observations in Jira for engineering review. Perform systematic robot bring‑up and shutdown procedures while following hardware and teleoperation safety protocols. Keep equipment and work areas organized to support safe and efficient operations. Prepare clear written and verbal reports covering system status, incidents, and potential improvements. Adapt to changing operating procedures and recommend improvements based on hands‑on experience.

Required skills

Academic or practical exposure to robotics, mechatronics, hardware assembly, or maintenance is helpful but not required. Experience with repetitive technical work, equipment operations, or structured incident reporting can also support success in this role.

Work arrangement

This is an onsite contractor opportunity in San Francisco, California. The work involves in‑person robot deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and repetitive physical activity in an active operating environment.

Pay

The advertised hourly range is $10‑$20 per hour.
