Summary

Blue River is seeking a Robotics Operations Engineer to manage the critical intersection of engineering development and real-world deployments of our technology. In this role, you will be the primary facilitator in bridging the gap between our engineering teams and global cooperators. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of data collection operations, from building advanced ruggedized hardware, coordinating international deployments, and managing multi-disciplinary data needs.

This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys a mix of high-level coordination and hands-on technical work.

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Work Location: Santa Clara, CA. Expect 3-5 days/week in the office.
  • Occasional travel - Up to 25% time required, Some international travel could be required.

Job Responsibilities

The main job responsibilities include:

  • Follow defined procedures to regularly monitor deployed systems and troubleshoot common issues.
  • Create processes to improve operational efficiency and develop metrics to track operational success.
  • Communicate regularly with customers, technicians, and various engineering, field, and business operations teams.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of related processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Work closely with the hardware engineering team to build and deploy prototype data collection machines.
  • Integrate with software development teams to do quality checks and flash systems while maintaining feature development schedules.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and support our internal inventory system.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, project management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and operations management skills.
  • Independent, results-oriented, and able to set and meet schedules in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable learning new technical skills using existing training materials or coaching from engineering staff.
  • Microsoft Office or Google Workspace proficiency.
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Experience in agriculture,agriculture-technology, computer vision, or a robotics-related field.
  • Experience in mechanical, robotics, and software engineering.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Python, C++, SQL, Database, or other coding experience.
  • Knowledge of Linux and/or real-time operating systems.

The US annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $162,000, along with eligibility for Blue River’s bonus and benefit programs. This is a salary range. Please note that our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process. During the recruitment process, we may identify an alternative role or level to which you are more suited.
