Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to enhance operational efficiency in their autonomous fleet. The ideal candidate will leverage experience in robotics and ML to automate hardware lifecycle processes, interface with diverse stakeholders, and drive innovative solutions within manufacturing.

This full-time role is hybrid and reports directly to a Director, Hardware and Sensors. The expected salary range is between $175,000 and $215,000 USD, complemented by bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of delivering engineering solutions balancing scientific rigor with production needs.
• Experience in training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models at scale.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive the automation of the hardware lifecycle for critical sensors and compute modules.
• Develop and deploy systems to streamline workflows between internal teams and manufacturers.
• Identify AI opportunities to increase operational velocity in manufacturing and troubleshooting.
• Interface with stakeholders to translate physical requirements into technical specifications.
• Bridge the gap between experimental ML models and production environments.
