Job summary

Smith+Nebhew is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Robotics New Product Development team in Pittsburgh, PA for a 12-week program beginning May 2027. You will design components or subsystems, test prototypes, and contribute to design reviews with cross-functional teams.

The role requires current enrollment in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, solid understanding of 3D CAD and GD&T, and demonstrated leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Currently matriculated or within a year of matriculation in an accredited university as an undergraduate majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar field of study.
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with managers to complete internship projects.
• Present project conclusions to senior leadership.
• Create documentation as required by the Smith+Nebhew Robotics Quality Management System.
