Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and test mechanical and electromechanical systems for our robotic unmanned vehicles.

You will develop models, prototypes, and coordinate fabrication, installation, and repair while applying engineering principles and creativity. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, 3–5 years of experience, and proficiency with CAD/SolidWorks, FEA and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Masters Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years Mechanical Engineering related experience.
• 3-5 years of machine & product design experience using Solid Works, Pro-E, or Catia.
• Proficient design skills in CAD/Solidworks software.
• Extensive experience in documenting design reviews.
• Proficient at documenting requirements.
• Must have experience in finite Element Analysis.
• Experience using hand calculations of stresses.
• Must have experience with GD&T
• Proficient in using math software like Matlab or Mathcad.
• Familiar with failure modes and effects analysis.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Familiar Patent Law.
• Understanding of software development.
• Familiar with Systems; Heavy Equipment; Hydraulics; Gearing and Motor

Responsibilities

• Researching and analyzing data including customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Designing products or systems for robotic control using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic principles and components.
• Participating in fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
• Coordinating operation, maintenance, and repair activities that optimize utilization of machines and equipment.
• Designing products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
• Evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Contribute to design reviews.
