Brooklyn Robotics Startup is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, prototype, test, and refine subsystems for dexterous robotic hands. You’ll diagnose failures, build infrastructure, and rapidly fabricate parts to advance manufacturable solutions.

The role requires strong mechanical design, CAD, and hands-on fabrication skills, with comfort in an early-stage environment and cross-functional collaboration with software and controls teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing products for manufacturing or high-volume production is a plus.
• A mechanical engineering degree and several years of experience are useful signals, but not required.
• Comfortable working in a very early-stage, fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and refine subsystems on dexterous robotic hands.
• Diagnose failures in test cells and deployments, identify root cause, and fix.
• Build hardware infrastructure to deploy robotic systems and collect data.
• Rapidly fabricate parts using 3D printing, CNC machining or hand tools.
• Design exogloves, test rigs, perception mounts, tooling, fixtures for the system.
• Collaborate with software and controls to improve overall machine performance.
• Take projects from rough idea through CAD, fabrication, assembly, testing and deployment.
• Evolve designs from prototyping to manufacturable products.
