Job summary

Samsung Research America’s Robot Intelligence Lab is hiring Researcher Engineers with strong robotics and embodied intelligence experience. Roles span Senior, Staff and Senior Staff levels, focusing on generalizing robots for real-world tasks and integrating perception, control and learning across groups.

You'll collaborate across labs and external partners, work on data collection, sim-to-real, and fleet maintenance, and contribute to high-impact applications in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in EECS/Robotics or equivalent experience.
• 2–14+ years in robotics R&D with advanced skills listed.
• Strong fundamentals in sensing, kinematics, dynamics and control.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, C++, ROS, CUDA.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate robotic hardware, sensors, and software for real-world tasks.
• Integrate sensors and actuators into prototype robotic systems and optimize performance.
• Develop and test algorithms for perception, control, learning, navigation and manipulation.
• Create virtual models and simulate real robots using sim-to-real techniques.
• Develop data collection, processing, and model management for in-the-wild data.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams from concept to completion.
• Document and present results and evaluate algorithms on compute platforms.
• Conduct pilot studies and formal experiments to benchmark performance.
• Maintain fleets of robots and related infrastructure.
