Amazon Inc. Frontier AI & Robotics seeks a Technical Lab Manager to lead hardware integration for next-generation robotics research. You will own lab hardware, from actuators to sensors, and guide a cross-functional team through prototypes and validation.

You will oversee lab operations, safety, documentation, and design tasks, driving manufacturability, testability, and rapid iteration in a fast‑moving AI robotics environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years hands-on experience with robotic systems integration (actuators, sensors, embedded systems).
• 3+ years leading and mentoring technical teams in lab or prototype environments.
• Proficiency with hardware troubleshooting using diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
• Deep understanding of electromechanical systems including power distribution and communication buses (CAN, EtherCAT, RS-485).
• Proven track record developing assembly procedures, test protocols, and technical documentation for prototype hardware.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system architecture diagrams.
• 10+ years experience in robotics hardware development and hardware integration.
• Extensive experience designing and troubleshooting high-DOF robotic systems with actuators, sensors, and control hardware.

Mansioni

• Prototype Lab Leadership: lead cross-functional technician team; manage priorities and KPIs; act as lab escalation point.
• Assemble & integrate robotic hardware; develop assembly processes and test protocols; improve manufacturability and testability.
• Own R&D prototype test and validation: verify revisions, assemblies, power sequencing, interfaces.
• Build debugging and failure analysis: troubleshoot across robot platform; train technicians in diagnostics.
• Own lab technical documentation: runbooks, FA reports, assembly guides, troubleshooting guides.
• Oversee mechanical design output for lab: supervise simple design tasks and fixture design.
• Manage prototyping lab operations: machine shop capabilities, equipment, vendors, safety compliance.
• Develop additional lab capabilities: test methods, jigs/fixtures, HIL testing, fast failure-to-resolution.
