ABOUT THE JOB

Arxlight is seeking a talented multi‑disciplinary Robotics Hardware Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving systems and components. We expect a high level of multi‑disciplinary knowledge across mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. You’ll take ownership of executing entire projects and collaborate closely with functional teams to deliver high‑quality, reliable, and cost‑effective engineering solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Execute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts in a wide range of fields - electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, manufacturing
  • Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
  • Design, implementation, and test of complex electro‑mechanical systems
  • High level system ownership with large levels of professional autonomy
  • Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
  • Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
  • Travel to test sites as needed
  • Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision
  • Wear many hats
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, or Software Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)
  • Experience in developing complex electro‑mechanical systems, such as robots, UAVs, wearables, high power, electric propulsion, etc
  • Ability to read, interpret, and manipulate block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
  • Strong command of engineering first principles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Multiple degrees or minors in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, or Software Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in Mechanical CAD (Solidworks, NX, Fusion 360, etc)
  • Experience in Electrical CAD (Altium, KiCad, etc)
  • Hands‑on prototyping experience (3D printing, machining, soldering, board assembly, harnessing)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, power conversion and system integration
  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with designing for rugged environments
  • Experience in characterizing circuits at both schematic and board level
  • Familiarity with wireless communication protocols
  • Experience with microcontroller wired communication protocols (USB, MIPI CSI2, SPI, I2C, CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485)
  • Experience with motor and servo drive (BLDC/Brushed motor controller design, servo control systems)
  • Practical experience with electrical engineering tools (Oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters)
