Job summary

D24 Search Limited seeks a Firmware / Embedded Systems Engineer to advance the world's first general-purpose robotic intelligence. Join a fast-growing, on-site team in San Mateo building low-level firmware for real-time robotics platforms.

You will design firmware for microcontrollers and embedded Linux, implement BLDC motor control, and collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new PCBAs for diverse robots. Salary range $200K–$300K base, with a high-ownership startup culture.

Qualifications

• Hands-on firmware development for robotics or embedded systems.
• BLDC motor control experience including FOC and PWM.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded development and debugging.
• Familiarity with real-time embedded systems and low-level comms protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for microcontrollers and embedded Linux, focusing on BLDC control (FOC, PWM, current/position).
• Design, debug and integrate RS-485, CAN, UART, SPI protocols.
• Implement and maintain real-time systems using RTOS (FreeRTOS, RT Linux, VxWorks).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new PCBAs and integrate into electromechanical systems.
• Integrate firmware into ROS/DDS for robot communication.
