SGLN Technologies Inc, Santa Rosa, CA, is seeking an experienced robotics engineer to identify automation opportunities and lead the design, programming, and deployment of cobot cells and AMRs on live manufacturing lines.
You'll integrate robots, sensors and vision with existing equipment, mentor junior staff, and coordinate pilots and scaling while ensuring safety, quality and throughput goals are met.
Identify and prioritize manufacturing processes suited to automation, building the business and technical case for each opportunity.
Design, program, integrate and commission collaborative robot cells for assembly, material handling, machine tending, inspection and test.
Deploy autonomous mobile robots for intelligent material movement, including route planning, fleet coordination and workstation hand-offs.
Own delivery from requirements and concept design through simulation, build, FAT/SAT, validation and production hand-off.
Integrate robots, sensors, 2D/3D vision, end-effectors and grippers with existing factory equipment and production lines.
Set technical standards, review designs and mentor engineers, technicians and operators while remaining personally hands-on.
Evaluate robotics and integration vendors, run pilots and scale the solutions that achieve safety, quality and throughput goals.
Partner with safety stakeholders on risk assessments and compliance before each robotic system goes live.
What you'll bring SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA
Bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry research experience.
At least 3 years of industrial automation or robotics experience deploying systems in a live manufacturing or production environment.
A strong combination of software and mechanical engineering capability.
Hands-on experience programming and integrating collaborative robots, such as Universal Robots or equivalent platforms, with end-effectors, grippers and vision systems.
Experience deploying AMRs and material-handling automation on a factory floor.
Experience with cobot simulation and offline programming tools used to validate layouts, cycle times and reachability before physical deployment.
Demonstrated success leading projects and mentoring others while remaining deeply involved in technical execution.
Strong problem-solving, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Visa sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
