Automation IG is seeking a Robotics Engineer in Chattanooga, TN, to design, program, and implement robotic systems for diverse automation projects. The role blends hands-on and theoretical work across welding, material handling, and plasma cutting, with travel to client sites across the U.S.

expected about 35% of the time. You will simulate, test, and optimize robotic operations to improve cycle times and quality while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in at least one programming language; RobotStudio experience is a plus.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems logically.
• Ability to think in three dimensions for simulations and live robot programs.
• Familiarity with debugging techniques and writing readable code.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and implement robotic systems for welding, material handling, and cutting.
• Simulate, test, and optimize robotic operations to reduce cycle times.
• Travel approximately 35% to client sites across the U.S. for setup and deployment.
