Job summary

Humber Automated Systems is seeking a Robotics Engineer/Scientific Technologist in the USA to join our automation design and integration team serving automotive manufacturers. You will assist with robotics electrical control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and startup commissioning.

Qualified candidates read schematics, program ladder logic, and troubleshoot DeviceNet/Ethernet-IP networks. Travel to USA/Canada and teamwork are essential for project execution.

Qualifications

  • Technician/Technologist Diploma in related field (Electrical, Mechanical, Software engineering).
  • Ability to read Electrical & Pneumatic Schematics and verify connections.
  • Knowledge of Controls systems theory and PLC controls (Allen-Bradley PLCs & Siemens HMIs).
  • Programming Ladder Logic & HMI for Cell, Cylinder Tooling, Robotics and conveyor control.
  • Troubleshooting communication networks using DeviceNet & Ethernet-IP technologies.
  • Effective and comfortable in team-oriented environments.
  • Independent and self-started attitude.
  • Flexible when faced with dynamic engineering challenges.
  • Ability to work & travel to USA & Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical assistance and solutions as robotics technology problems arise, before, during, and after construction.
  • Provide technical assistance during installation of robotic electrical control systems.
  • Collaborate with controls engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
  • Systems integration; robotics, electronics & systems troubleshooting, start-up and commissioning.
  • Modification of robotic electrical/electronic systems for performance improvement, including throughput and cycle time enhancement of existing systems through detailed analysis and reporting.
  • Implementation of new electronic systems technology, including research of new technology for enhancement of existing systems.
  • Provide training to the manufacturing facility so that their electricians can maintain their own equipment.

We take the project from Design and Blueprints through to startup integration and Material Launch.

Duties of position
