Job summary

Magna Seating in Wisconsin is seeking a skilled Robotics Engineer to design, integrate, and maintain automated systems across our manufacturing operations. You will optimize production efficiency, improve safety, and support new equipment installations with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering field.
  • 2+ years with industrial robotics (brands: Universal, FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
  • Proficiency in robot programming, troubleshooting, and integration.
  • Strong understanding of PLCs, sensors, and automation controls.
  • Experience with CAD and reading schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and troubleshoot robotic systems across manufacturing operations.
  • Lead integration projects for new robotic cells and automation equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement to improve cycle time, quality, and throughput.
  • Create and maintain documentation: schematics, PM plans, and standards.
  • Train maintenance and production staff on robot operation and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on automation upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA, MIOSHA).

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a skilled and innovative Robotics Engineer to support the design, integration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated systems within our manufacturing operations. This role will focus on optimizing production efficiency, improving safety, and supporting new equipment installations across our facility.

  • Design, program, and troubleshoot robotic systems, including industrial robotics, cobots, and automated tooling.
  • Lead integration projects for new robotic cells, conveyors, end-of-arm tooling, and machine vision systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on automation-related downtime.
  • Support plant engineering teams with continuous improvement initiatives to improve cycle time, quality, and throughput.
  • Create and maintain documentation: schematics, preventive maintenance plans, and programming standards.
  • Train maintenance and production staff on robotic system operation and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Safety) on automation upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and company safety standards.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with industrial robotics (e.g., UNIVERSAL, FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
  • Proficiency in robot programming, troubleshooting, and integration.
  • Strong understanding of PLCs, sensors, and automation controls.
  • Experience with CAD software and reading mechanical/electrical schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).

Familiarity with Industry 4.0, data collection, and smart factory automation.
