Job summary

Techire AI is seeking a Founding Robotics Research Engineer to push the boundaries of robot foundation models. You will work on building models that translate from simulation to real-world manipulation, contributing to a first product release.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD and has experience with VLAs, foundation models, VLMs, and AV systems. This is a hands-on role with equity taken seriously as part of the founding team.

Qualifications

• PhD required or equivalent research expertise.
• Experience with large-scale foundation models and robotics.
• Strong publication and research background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle from data collection to deployment on physical robots.
• Train and optimize inference for real-world robot systems.
• Collaborate with researchers to advance robot foundation models and related tech.

We’re working with a VC-backed robotics startup founded by industry-leading researchers with immense publication records. The team is developing proprietary foundation models for precision manipulation and preparing for its first public product release!

You’ll have the full lifecycle; from robot data collection and model training through to inference optimisation and deployment on physical systems. It’s an opportunity to combine frontier research with hands-on engineering, while helping shape the technology as an early team member.

Ideal candidate should have a PhD, experience in VLAs & Foundation models. Experience with VLMs / AV also relevant.
