Job summary

Adaptec Solutions in the United States is seeking a Robotics Engineer III to own the design, development, and optimization of robotic applications within complex automation systems. The role leads coordinated motion, system integration, and collision avoidance to meet performance targets.

You will drive debugging, acceptance, and standards compliance, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across disciplines and with partners to deliver high-quality automation solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 4–7 years owning robotic applications with coordinated motion.
  • Experience integrating tooling, fixtures, and vision/peripheral systems.
  • Leadership in acceptance testing and cycle-time optimization.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and planning support.
  • Root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Applying lean principles to improve workflow, quality, and cycle-time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead reach/clearance validation and collision avoidance.
  • Integrate tooling, fixtures, and vision/peripherals as required.
  • Execute debug and support factory/site acceptance.
  • Analyze performance and optimize cycle-time.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support planning/estimation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on technical interfaces.
  • Communicate risks and mitigations to stakeholders.
  • Up to 30% travel required.

Job description

Role Overview: The Robotics Engineer III is responsible for owning the design, development, and optimization of robotic applications within complex automation systems. This role leads the implementation of coordinated motion, system integration, and collision avoidance strategies, ensuring solutions meet performance, reliability, and cycle‑time objectives.

The position plays a key role in system startup, debugging, and acceptance activities, driving issue resolution and improvement initiatives. In addition to technical ownership, the engineer mentors junior team members, collaborates across disciplines and with external partners, and contributes to standards and best practices to support consistent, high-quality execution across projects.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the wage range for this role is $95K-$110K. The rate range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Adaptec Solutions considers factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
