Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions is seeking a Robotics Engineer to join our Detroit-area team. You will collaborate with the Robotics Engineering Manager, technical leaders, and cross-functional teams to support the Controls group vision and drive improvements.

In this role you will develop robot programs, verify reach, configure I/O, initialize robots, and transition them to automatic mode while supporting customer installations and speed optimizations. Travel 30-40% may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PLC functions.
• Knowledge of Mechanical Design.
• Willing to learn cycle time analysis.
• Experience programming Fanuc, ABB, or Yaskawa robots.
• Willing to learn Roboguide/Robot Studio.
• Exposure to CAD.
• Able to read electrical drawings.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Ability to interpret customer standards.
• Able to travel 30-40%.

The Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will collaborate with the Robotics Engineering Manager, Technical Leaders, and cross-functional teams to support meeting the vision of the Controls group with proving insight and ideas on improvements (processes, standards, best practices, and tools) that boost the team’s effectiveness and efficiency. This position reports to Robotics/R&D Manager.
