Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Maintenance Technician in Chicago, IL to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines, troubleshoot multi-system issues, and support robotic machine-tending systems in a highly automated facility.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Fanuc RoboDrill, Universal Robots, and Fanuc industrial robots, plus strong knowledge of spindle, servo, and drive systems. Relocation expenses not specified.

Qualifications

Proficient with CNC controls (FANUC, Okuma OSP) and capable of detailed troubleshooting.
Able to read blueprints, electrical diagrams, and schematics.
Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production machinery.
Experience using CMMS to document work and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
Familiar with robotics/automation, including collaborative and industrial robots.
Solid understanding of spindle, servo, and drive systems and related faults.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to urgent maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on CNC equipment and related machinery.
Service and maintain CNC machining centers, including 3-axis and 4-axis machines.
Maintain and service Fanuc RoboDrill vertical machining centers.
Support maintenance and servicing of Universal Robots collaborative robotic arms.
Maintain and troubleshoot Fanuc industrial robots used for machine tending and automation.
Replace worn components such as ball screws, linear guides, bearings, and belts to restore machine accuracy and performance.
Diagnose spindle, servo, and drive issues, and implement effective repairs or adjustments.
Update preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records in a CMMS.
Support the integration, setup, and maintenance of robotic machine-tending systems within the production environment.
Assist with facility systems such as compressed air systems and electrical panels to ensure continuous operation.
Participate in end-of-shift cleaning by maintaining a clean and organized work area.
