Plasmidsaurus is seeking a PhD scientist to design and develop new robotic-enabled biology experiments, expanding capabilities across expression and display technologies. You will drive discovery by combining wet-lab expertise with AI tools and automation.

You will work across disciplines to create novel methods, translating ideas into functioning systems and accelerating knowledge generation to advance biotech medicines.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related wet-lab field.
• Strong hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques including PCR, cell culture, and sequencing.
• Experience developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing biological workflows.
• Practical expertise in protein expression.
• Experience with high-throughput display technologies (ribosome, mRNA, cDNA, or phage display).
• Hands-on experience scaling workflows with robotics to improve throughput and reliability.
• Experience using LLMs and computational tools in scientific work.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and validate experimental methods to expand scientific questions.
• Establish capabilities such as protein expression and purification, ribosome display, mRNA display, cDNA display, and other high-throughput techniques.
• Adapt methods across disciplines and develop new approaches when established protocols fall short.
• Lead research projects from hypothesis to execution, data analysis, and iteration.
• Use data, computational tools, and LLMs to accelerate experimental design and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to integrate new capabilities into automated systems.
• Translate complex manual protocols into reliable robotic workflows.
• Build and optimize experiments for robotic fleets and remove limits to automation.
• Support adoption of automated protocols in the research team.
