Job summary

Amazon in Seattle is seeking a Robotics Data Science Intern/Co-op for 2026. This role focuses on applying data science, ML, CV, NLP, and statistics to real-world robotics problems and improving customer experiences.

Interns work on scalable research, experiments, and collaboration with robotics teams across multiple locations and durations. Preferred candidates are Master’s or PhD students with strong Python/SQL skills and experience in ML, CV, NLP, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, ML, CV, OR, etc.
• Eligible for full-time internship/out-of-office hours for the whole duration of internship/co-op
• At least 1 year of relevant academic research or industry experience in ML, CV, optimization or related
• At least 1 year of experience using SQL, Python, or statistical software (R, SAS, Matlab)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement state-of-the-art solutions for never-before-solved problems.
• Collaborate with research and robotics experts to design experiments and improve analytics.
• Partner with tech and product leads to solve business problems using scientific approaches.
• Build new tools and derive insights to surprise and delight customers.
• Quantify system performance at scale and expand analysis of warehouse processes.
• Evolve KPIs and design experiments to root cause emergent behavior.
• Engage with software teams and engineers to evolve the Robotics system and simulation engine.
