Job summary

Amazon's Frontier AI & Robotics (FAR) team is building advanced robotic systems through frontier foundation models, and high-quality data collection is a core input to that research. You will own the technical execution and continuous improvement of early‑stage data collection, partnering with researchers to translate objectives into reliable workflows and ensuring training‑ready data.

In this role you will lead end-to-end collection iterations, develop SOPs, serve as the technical SME for

Qualifications

Experience leading data collection or data-ops in robotics or ML projects.
Strong collaboration with researchers, engineers, and operations.
Ability to diagnose issues with hardware, sensors, and collection software.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end collection iterations from requirements to training-ready data.
Develop and refine SOPs with researchers; maintain version control.
Serve as SME for collection workflows, equipment, and tools; diagnose issues.
Provide coaching to data collectors and calibrate against quality standards.
Assess risks, determine continuation or escalation, ensuring safety and data integrity.
Own collection performance metrics and use dashboards for root-cause analysis.
Lead operational improvements and reusable workflows across stations.
Coordinate with researchers, engineering, operations and annotation partners; escalate when needed.
