Qualifications

• PhD in engineering, technology, CS, ML, robotics, OR statistics or related field, or Master's with 4+ years of experience.
• 6+ years of applied research experience.
• 3+ years of scientists or ML engineers management experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Knowledge of engineering practices across full software/hardware lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience building ML models or developing algorithms for business applications.
• Experience hiring and growing top talent.
• Strong understanding of robotics, computer vision and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor applied scientists and engineers to accelerate technology development and deployment across Amazon Robotics.
• Define science and engineering strategy and product features; drive system architecture and best practices for a quality product.
• Collaborate with business partners, engineers, and product managers to accelerate automation solutions for robots.
• Develop career plans and growth pathways for scientists and engineers reporting to you.
