Job summary

Amazon Robotics seeks an Applied Scientist to develop manipulation controllers for contact-rich robotics. You will blend impedance/admittance control with data-driven learning to achieve robust manipulation across objects and tasks.

You will collaborate with perception, ML, motion planning, controls, and software teams to prototype, validate, and productionize learned policies on real hardware at scale.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s with 4+ years in science, tech, eng, or related field.
• Patents or top-tier publications in peer-reviewed venues.
• Proficient programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience designing, running, and analyzing simulations on hardware.

Responsibilities

• Research and implement ML-based manipulation policies for contact-rich tasks.
• Develop learning frameworks using simulation and real data for robustness.
• Design experiments in simulation and hardware to validate policies.
• Collaborate with software teams to deploy scalable, real-time solutions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to transition policies to production.
