Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Robotics/AI Motor Control Scientist to develop cutting-edge machine learning algorithms for motor control systems in robots. In this role, you will focus on creating and optimizing intelligent motor control strategies to enable robots to perform complex, whole-body tasks.

Your contributions will be essential in advancing robotics by enabling fluid, reliable, and safe interactions between robots and their environments.

Qualifications

PhD or Master’s degree with 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
3+ years of building models for business applications.
Experience in patents or publications at top-tier conferences or journals.
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, HPC.

Responsibilities

Develop controllers that leverage reinforcement or imitation learning to achieve robust motor behaviors.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate motor control with hardware and energy efficiency.
Use simulation and real-world testing to refine control algorithms.
Stay updated on robotics, AI, and control systems developments to apply techniques to motion challenges.
Lead technical projects from conception through production deployment.
Mentor junior scientists and engineers.
Bridge research initiatives with practical engineering implementation.
