Job summary

Multimatic Michigan is seeking a Robotic Welding Technician (2nd shift) to join the Maintenance team. You will set up and program robots, troubleshoot weld controllers, and support production with well-maintained equipment to meet quality and scheduling requirements.

The role requires a technical diploma in robotic welding or automation, experience with Motoman/Fanuc robots, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Post secondary diploma from a technical college in Robotic Welding, Electro-Mechanical, or Automation.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Experience with Motoman & Fanuc robots and Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Strong problem solving and reading blueprints.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and teach robots as required.
• Troubleshoot and adjust robots, weld controllers, using PLCs and HMIs.
• Assist with equipment changeovers and tooling changes.
• Provide production support to ensure smooth runs (setup, tool changes, problem solving).
• Adjust MIG, Spot, and Arc Welding schedules on weld controllers.
• Maintain equipment to ensure quality parts and prevent downtime.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work safely and in compliance with TS16949 and ISO 14001.
