We are looking for a dependable Robotic Welding Operator to oversee and operate automated welding cells. In this role, you will load parts, run pre-programmed weld cycles, inspect finished pieces, and perform basic machine troubleshooting.
Note: You will not be writing robot programs from scratch- all paths and parameters are pre-set. This position functions similarly to an advanced CNC or production machine operator role, focusing on cycle consistency, routine mechanical troubleshooting, and quality control.
Load and clamp metal components into custom fixtures, jigs, and rotary positioners according to production blueprints.
Select and execute pre-loaded weld programs from the machine controller.
Monitor automated welding cycles to ensure smooth wire feeding, steady shielding gas flow, and stable arc performance.
Perform basic operational troubleshooting when faults occur (e.g., clear wire jams, adjust wire-feed tension, swap worn contact tips or nozzles).
Visually inspect finished welds for quality defects such as spatter, porosity, undercutting, or incomplete penetration.
Use basic inspection tools (calipers, tape measures, fillet weld gauges) to verify dimensional accuracy.
Maintain clean weld torches and fixtures, and carry out minor preventative maintenance at shift turnover.
Comply with cell safety procedures, including the proper use of light curtains, interlocks, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Experience: 1+ years operating industrial machinery (robotic weld cells, CNC machines, stamping presses, or automated manufacturing equipment).
Technical Skills: Ability to read shop drawings/blueprints and use basic measuring hand tools.
Troubleshooting Aptitude: Comfortable diagnosing minor mechanical hiccups, wire feed issues, or consumable wear without needing immediate supervisor intervention.
Welding Knowledge: Familiarity with MIG (GMAW) welding fundamentals is a plus, though hands-on manual welding experience is not strictly required.
Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
