Job summary

Standard Iron seeks a Manufacturing Engineer with a Robotic Welding focus to drive weld programming, process development, and quality improvements across sheet metal fabrication. You will develop weld parameters, program robotic cells, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on robotics experience with manufacturing engineering principles and lean methods to enhance quality, productivity, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Welding Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-7 years of manufacturing engineering experience with robotic welding emphasis.
  • Experience programming industrial robotic welding systems.
  • Strong understanding of welding parameters and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and nesting tools.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, and optimize robotic welding applications with industrial robots (FANUC/ABB/Yaskawa/KUKA).
  • Teach pendant and offline programming for welding applications.
  • Develop and validate weld parameters to maximize quality and productivity.
  • Program CNC equipment using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, nesting software.
  • Improve processes for laser cutting, punching, forming, bending, welding, and assembly.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and jigs to improve quality and throughput.
  • Support NPI by reviewing designs for manufacturability and weld sequences.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead cost-reduction and Lean initiatives to reduce waste.
