Job Description
PTMW, Inc is seeking a competent and results-oriented welder to operate our Robotic Weld Machine. Responsibilities include soft programming and operating the AGT robot for various welding tasks, setting up the robot for specific jobs, selecting appropriate programs, and monitoring the robot to ensure proper operation. The role also involves cleaning the work area, adhering to safety guidelines, and ensuring quality standards are met. Candidates should be detail-oriented, possess good problem-solving skills, and be able to meet deadlines in a schedule-based environment.
Essential Job Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, possess basic mechanical knowledge, and use hand tools.
- Operate the Robotic Weld machine using computer-based software.
- Monitor machine operation and control panel readings to detect malfunctions.
- Adjust machine controls when necessary.
- Collaborate with management and the Robotic Team Guide to resolve issues and approve production continuation.
- Perform rework or corrections to meet specifications.
- Load and unload materials, possibly using an overhead crane.
- Clean machines after each shift.
- Perform manual welding if required during robot cycles.
- Evaluate weld quality and performance.
- Remove rough spots from workpieces.
- Use templates and work aids to ensure quality and consistency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least one year of related welding experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Multiple welding certifications, including robotic welding if applicable.
- Welding certification or ability to pass a welding test (e.g., D1.1/FCAW).
- Ability to pass internal quality assurance tests for mild steel and galvanized welding.
Skills and Abilities
- Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
