Job summary

AKG North America is seeking a skilled welder to operate both manual and robotic welding equipment, attaching tanks and parts per blueprint instructions. The role emphasizes MIG and TIG welding proficiency and robotic welding operations while upholding quality and safety standards.

Qualified applicants will have formal welding training and the ability to read blueprints, work with metric measurements, and perform welds to specification during the 9pm–5am shift.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal welding training program or apprenticeship.
• Able to work the stated shift and overtime when required.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and robotic welding equipment according to blueprints.
• Set up robotic welding equipment, clean debris, and replace gun parts as needed.
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and work instructions.
• Perform MIG and/or TIG welding as required by the job.
• Move cores and tanks using a pallet jack or hoist as needed.
• Weld additional parts per blueprint requirements.
• Conduct quality checks on welds and leaks after welding.
• Provide feedback to the test tank team regarding defects.
• Meet production quotas and maintain standard times.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow EMS policies.
