Job summary

Standard Iron in Alexandria, MN is seeking entry-level Robotic Welders to set up, operate and optimize robotic welding systems. Training will be provided to the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

The role requires reading blueprints, basic measuring tools, and knowledge of welding techniques. You will work 2nd shift, with opportunities to grow within a long-standing contract manufacturing leader.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in welding preferred
• Experience with robotic welding systems in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of welding techniques
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
• Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor robotic welding systems.
• Familiar with ABB and Fanuc robotics is preferred.
• Program and adjust robotic welding equipment to meet production specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
• Inspect welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on robotic welding systems.
• Load and unload materials and ensure proper positioning for welding operations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and efficiency.
• Document production output and quality checks as required.
• Establish robotic and automated welding parameters and adjust robotic/welding variables as necessary; oversee improvements to align with safety, delivery, quality, and cost requirements.
• Balance welding operations to achieve maximum efficiency using offline programming software; analyze cycle time, part dimensional improvements, and ensure part consistency.
• Assist in the development and implementation of advanced robotic applications and welding automation.
• Maintain spare parts inventory, oversee routine maintenance for associated equipment.

• 2nd Shift Monday – Thursday, 4:30pm to 3:00am
