Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking a hands-on Robotic Welder to operate, set up, troubleshoot, and support FANUC robotic welding cells used to produce precision components for aerospace and defense applications in Millport, Alabama. You will work in a high-Quality manufacturing environment with emphasis on repeatable weld quality and process stability.

The role offers the opportunity to advance technical skills in automated welding, with MIG/GMAW expertise and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in robotic welding or related manufacturing.
  • Experience with FANUC robotic systems and teach pendant.
  • Strong MIG/GMAW welding knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.
  • High school diploma or GED; AWS and FANUC certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic welding cells.
  • Assist with programming and editing FANUC welding programs.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
  • Ensure weld quality and production efficiency.
  • Support new product introduction and fixture validation.

Robotic Welder – Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing

Location: Millport, AL
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $40,000–$60,000 per year, based on experience

Are you an experienced Robotic Welder looking to work with advanced automation and welding technology in a high-quality manufacturing environment?

We are partnering with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer seeking a hands-on Robotic Welder to operate, set up, troubleshoot, and support robotic welding cells used to produce precision components for demanding aerospace and defense applications.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in robotic welding, FANUC systems, MIG/GMAW welding, and automated manufacturing who wants to continue developing their technical skills in a quality-driven environment.

What You'll Do

As a Robotic Welder, you will be responsible for supporting robotic welding operations from setup through production while helping maintain consistent weld quality, repeatability, and equipment performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operate, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic welding cells.
  • Assist with programming, editing, and optimizing FANUC robotic welding programs.
  • Operate and support welding equipment including Fronius and Miller welding systems.
  • Set and adjust welding parameters to maintain weld quality and production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot robot faults, torch alignment, wire-feed problems, welding parameters, and other robotic cell issues.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Perform fit-up inspections, weld setup verification, and in-process quality checks.
  • Work with MIG/GMAW welding processes, fixturing, weld sequencing, and distortion-control techniques.
  • Support new product introduction activities including fixture validation, process development, and robotic weld-path optimization.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve welding and automation issues.
  • Work with aerospace-grade materials including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
  • Follow all required safety, welding, quality, and aerospace manufacturing procedures.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in robotic welding, automated manufacturing, welding automation, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Hands-on experience working with FANUC robotic systems.
  • Experience using a FANUC teach pendant, making basic program edits, and troubleshooting robot faults.
  • Strong knowledge of MIG/GMAW welding.
  • Experience with robotic welding fixtures, weld sequencing, and distortion control.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and weld symbols.
  • Experience with Fronius and/or Miller welding equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot welding and robotic equipment problems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with GD&T is a plus.
  • Aerospace, defense, automotive, heavy equipment, or other high-quality manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school, trade school, or training in welding, robotics, automation, or manufacturing technology preferred.
  • AWS welding certifications are a plus.
  • FANUC robotics certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

  • Stand for extended periods, including shifts of 10+ hours.
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform hands-on manufacturing work.
  • Inspect weld quality and accurately read technical drawings.
  • Wear required PPE including welding hood, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe footwear, and hearing protection.
