Job summary

Flex-N-Gate is seeking an experienced Weld Technician to operate and optimize welding processes, ensuring product integrity while driving continuous improvement. You will work with Panasonic, Fanuc, ABB, and Nachi robotic welders and manage PLC backups, weld schedules, fixtures, and operator instructions.

The role requires PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley or Omron), strong organizational and communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Welding Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Certified Weld Technician or 4+ years welding manufacturing experience.
• PLC programming experience using Allen Bradley or Omron.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• ISO 14000/TS 16949 knowledge and adherence.
• Leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify and maintain Welding Applications using Panasonic, Fanuc, ABB & Nachi Robotic Welding.
• Create, modify and maintain PLC AB & Omron backups for welding equipment.
• Modify Weld Schedules/ Setup Parameters for MIG, Spot & Projection Welding.
• Modify Weld Fixtures Setup to match drawing specs.
• Create and maintain Weld Schedules, Setup/ Changeover and Operator Instructions.
• Create and maintain Poke Yoke Systems in Welding Area.
• Support Production & Maintenance to troubleshoot welding equipment.
• Identify & Implement Continuous Improvement projects to boost plant efficiency and cut costs.
• Participate in 8D reports for corrective/preventive actions.
• Create and update Welding PFMEA for various products.
• Participate in selecting new welding equipment.
