Job summary

Globe Tech in Plymouth, MI is seeking a Robotic Weld Technician for the 2nd shift to support state-of-the-art robotic MIG welding systems and minimize downtime. You will set up robotic and resistance weld operations, program Fanuc robots, and work with weld operators to sustain quality and throughput.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and a 2-year robotic welding certificate; 2+ years of welding experience preferred. Competitive hourly pay with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years as a weld technician in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to develop and improve welding processes.
  • Set up robotic and resistance weld operations and poke-yoke devices.
  • Provide general weld support to operators and maintain equipment.
  • Program Fanuc robots and troubleshoot welding maintenance issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sensors and pneumatics during operations.

Robotic Weld Technician

Full Time Plymouth, MI, US

Salary Range: $33.00 To $38.00 Hourly

Role Description:

We are looking for a skilled Robotic Weld Technician to join our high performing team on a 2nd shift work schedule using strong technical and communication skills and striving to maintain a goal of zero downtime for our state-of-the-art robotic mig welding systems. The incumbent will work well in and supporting a welding team production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Additional job duties may be assigned.

  • Provide technical support in developing ad improving welding processes
  • Set up of robotic and resistance weld operations, and Poke-yoke apparatus
  • Provide general weld support to operators
  • Knowledge of robot programming and general welding maintenance Fanuc
  • Sensor and pneumatics knowledge
  • Provide support in the analysis and resolution of weld equipment failures

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Must have minimum of 2 years as a weld technician in a manufacturing environment.

Certifications:

  • 2 year certificate in a robotic weld technical program or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with basic computer systems.
  • Speak effectively with fellow employees or customers.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical skills:

  • Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra.

Other Skills:

  • Detail oriented.
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
