Job summary

Albany Medical Center's Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join the busy Perioperative Surgical team at our main campus in Albany, NY. You will provide comprehensive perioperative care and assist surgeons in robotic and general procedures across orthopedic and other specialties, collaborating with staff in a fast-paced learning environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program or a Master’s in Nursing with RNFA training.
• Licensed and actively registered as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• Proficient with electronic medical records and medical billing systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons during a wide range of procedures, including robotic-assisted cases across multiple specialties.
• Perform first‑ and second‑assist duties in the operating room.
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Participate in a collaborative learning environment with mentorship across specialties.
• Maintain proficiency in evolving techniques and perioperative best practices.
• Document encounters, operative notes, and findings accurately.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
