Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs in Philadelphia is seeking an orthopedic surgeon for a continuously filled position. The role includes managing comprehensive orthopedic care from patient intake to post-operative management, with collaborative work across a multidisciplinary team.

The physician will perform a wide range of procedures, ensure labs and imaging are obtained as needed, and maintain compliance with VA and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Must be a United States citizen and eligible for VA appointment.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license to practice in a U.S. state or territory.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of orthopedic surgical care from admission through post-operative care.
• Order labs and diagnostic tests and request consultations to specialty services.
• Perform office- and operating-room-based invasive procedures.
• Adhere to VA, Joint Commission, and applicable professional standards in practice.
• Collaborate with a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff to treat veterans.
