Job summary

Angstrom NA LLC is seeking a skilled robotic welding technician in Michigan to translate welding requirements into robust robot programs for MIG, TIG, and spot welding. You will install, program, and optimize welding equipment, calibrate robotic systems, and collaborate with manufacturing on setups to meet throughput and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma/assoc. degree in robotics, automation, or welding tech.
• Hands-on MIG/TIG/spot welding experience and robotics exposure.
• Knowledge of welding processes, materials, and weld controllers.
• Ability to read blueprints, prints, and check sheets.
• Strong safety awareness with MIOSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Translate welding requirements into efficient robot programs for MIG, TIG, and spot welding.
• Program and optimize CNC tending robots to keep parts moving and targets met.
• Install, program, and adjust robotic welding equipment and weld controllers to spec.
• Calibrate and verify robotic arms, sensors, and tooling; validate with checks.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to protect throughput and equipment life.
• Troubleshoot robot, controller, and system issues to minimize downtime.
• Use calipers and gauges; document and report process variations or quality concerns.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on setups, tool changes, problem-solving for flow.
• Maintain a safe, clean, compliant work area; follow MIOSHA guidance.
