Job summary

United Concrete in Wallingford, CT, is seeking a versatile robot welding operator for our steel catch basins. Training will be provided to the right person; ideal candidates will have good hand–eye coordination and knowledge of basic shop operations.

Steel-toe footwear is required and the ability to lift 58 pounds is necessary. Working hours are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a half-day Saturday 6:00 AM to Noon.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of welding experience.
• Knowledge of basic shop operations helpful.
• Steel-toe footwear required.

Responsibilities

• Run robot welding machine to assemble catch basins.
• Assemble 20–22 steel pieces inside jig/frame and push start.
• Use electric hoist to move finished grate.
• Remove finished part by hand (58 lbs) from the opposite side of robot.
• Make fixes and move to finished rack.
• Replenish materials in area using electric hoist.
• MIG weld pieces by hand.
• Move racks and keep area clean.

United Concrete Products in Wallingford CT. is seeking a versatile, high energy person for our Robot Welding Machine that produces our steel catch basins. Training will be provided to the right person. The ideal individual should have good hand to eye coordination and have knowledge of basic shop operations. Steel or composite toe footwear is required. The ability to lift 58 Pounds will be required.

Working hours are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday including ½ day Saturday 6:00 AM to Noon

Duties Include

• Run Robot
• Assemble the 20-22 steel pieces necessary to make the catch basin inside of a jig, frame/grate, push the button
• Utilize electric hoist to move finished grate
• While robot makes part, remove finished part by hand (58 lbs.) from the opposite side of robot.
• Make fixes as needed and move to finished rack
• Replenish materials in area as needed, utilizing electric hoist
• MIG weld some pieces by hand
• Move empty/full racks as needed, utilizing electric hoist
• Keep area clean

• 2-3 years of Welding experience
• Bandsaw and punch press experience is a plus.
