Job summary

Valeo in Reno, NV is seeking a Robot Application Algorithm Engineer to design and deploy robot vision-guided grasping and manipulation algorithms for industrial tasks, including grasp pose planning and precise insertion.

You will work with ROS/ROS2, MoveIt, and perception pipelines to deliver end-to-end workflows from vision to robot action, optimize cycle times, and perform on-site deployment, validation, and personnel training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a robotics-related field.
• 3+ years of experience in robot vision-guided grasping or robot application development.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and MoveIt for planning and control.
• Hands-on with OpenCV, PCL, RGB-D sensors and pose estimation.
• Experience with real-robot commissioning and industrial deployments.

Responsibilities

• Develop robot visual perception systems including object detection, segmentation, and 6D pose estimation.
• Deliver closed-loop workflows from localization to robot execution using MoveIt.
• Combine vision, depth, and force feedback for online correction of end-effector poses.
• Integrate software architecture with ROS/ROS2 and perception modules.
• Deploy on-site, adapt production lines, troubleshoot, and train personnel.
