Job summary

NEURA Robotics is seeking a skilled robotics software engineer to join our team and help integrate the robot abstraction layer with the platform API. You will wire middleware paths (ROS 2 launch graphs, DDS QoS) for hard real-time control and contribute to end-to-end hardware integration and testing.

The role emphasizes developing robust state machines, safe power sequencing, fault handling, and health monitoring across complex robot platforms. Collaboration with platform architects is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ knowledge with real-time patterns and allocation discipline.
• Experience designing state machines for complex robotic systems.
• Familiarity with gRPC and protobuf APIs for server and streaming RPCs.
• Hands-on with robot abstraction layers and middleware integration.

Responsibilities

• Integrate robot abstraction layer mapping hardware capabilities to the platform API.
• wire ROS 2 launch graphs, DDS QoS, and middleware pipelines for real-time control.
• Develop and maintain the operational state machine across modes and faults.
• Implement power-on/off sequences and safe shutdown procedures.
• Monitor health, handle faults, and support platform testing in simulation and on hardware.
• Collaborate on proto messages and co-ownership of the robot control API.
