Relling seeks engineers in San Francisco to build hybrid robotic cells for specialty manufacturing. Candidates should combine robotics and ML intuition with a strong operational discipline to ensure reliability in production environments.
Responsibilities include full-stack deployment management, performance diagnosis, and improvement of robotic systems. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that impacts real production outcomes.
The position supports relocation and emphasizes hands-on work at multiple sites.
Relling is building the deployment layer for physical AI. We deploy hybrid robotic cells — classical motion composed with learned manipulation primitives — into specialty manufacturing operations across the defense industrial base. Our cells run today inside our own factory and on partner floors, and the work to make them run reliably under real production conditions is the work we're hiring you to do. In this role, you’ll build robotic cells that operate in real production environments with real consequences when they stop. You’ll work across the full deployment stack: perception, motion, learned policies, observability, safety, and technician interfaces. The focus is shipping infrastructure that works on a factory floor, not on a benchmark. The work compounds: every primitive you build, every failure mode you instrument, every reliability fix you ship becomes part of the deployment layer for every future cell.
We’re looking for engineers who combine strong robotics and ML systems intuition with the operational discipline to ship cells that survive contact with real production. Strong candidates typically have many of the following.
Based in San Francisco (Potrero Hill) with regular on‑floor work at Fuselage and partner sites. Relocation supported.
