Job summary

Applied Intuition in Sunnyvale is seeking a Robot Infrastructure Engineer focused on collection tooling. You will make robot demonstrations and human corrections easy to capture and use, building teleoperation workflows, quality checks, and ingestion tools for training data.

You will work hands-on with real robots, collaborating with learning, hardware, and operations colleagues to ensure data provenance, reproducibility, and scalable collection across projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with data collection tooling used on real robots or autonomous systems.
• Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with multimodal time-series data and robotics datasets.

Responsibilities

• Build teleoperation and operator tools for leader arms, VR, and other interfaces.
• Implement episode workflows for task instructions, start/stop, resets, annotations, and human takeover.
• Build collection quality checks for frame drops, timestamp alignment, and calibration validity.
• Create collection specifications and adapters to validate data against requirements.
• Keep raw recordings as truth and enable reproducible export to training formats.
• Show collection progress and drive coverage of variations and hard cases.
• Test everything on real robots and document setup for others to run collection.
