Job summary

Stealth Startup is seeking an hands-on Field Service Engineer to operate and support our humanoid fleet in customer homes across the Bay Area. You will be the frontline, ensuring robots run smoothly and feeding field observations back to the team.

You will diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and help expand our operations playbook as the fleet grows, with opportunities to own tooling and scripting tasks as needed.

Job description

We're an early-stage robotics company in stealth, bringing general-purpose humanoid robots into real homes. Our founder is a Forbes 30 Under 30 serial entrepreneur whose last company raised $25M from Khosla Ventures and Microsoft. We're a small, hands-on team, and you'll be one of the first people putting our robots to work in the real world.

The role

You'll own the day-to-day operation of our humanoid fleet in the field. You'll be the person who keeps our robots running smoothly at customer homes, and the feedback you bring back will shape how we build the product. It's a great fit for someone who loves robotics, enjoys being out from behind a desk, and wants their fingerprints on an early product.

What you'll do

• Deploy and operate our humanoid fleet across customer sites in the Bay Area.
• Keep robots healthy and ready to work by handling charging and battery swaps, routine checks, and quick fixes in the field.
• Respond on site when a robot needs help, then diagnose and resolve issues safely.
• Be the friendly, professional face of the company in customers' homes.
• Turn what you see in the field into clear feedback for our engineering team.
• Help build our operations playbook and tools from the ground up as the fleet grows.
• Pitch in on technical projects across the company, from testing and debugging to scripting and tooling.

What we're looking for

• Hands-on experience with robots, hardware, vehicles or other complex machines.
• A strong troubleshooting instinct and comfort working independently in the field.
• A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record, plus comfort driving around the Bay Area.
• Clear communication and a calm, customer-friendly manner.
• Comfort with occasional lifting and physical work.

Nice to have

• An engineering background or degree, such as mechanical, electrical, robotics or computer science.
• Experience with Linux, Python, ROS or robot teleoperation.
• Field service, ops or test-engineering experience at a robotics, AV or hardware startup.
• You'll get to work with frontier humanoid robots before almost anyone else.
• You'll have real ownership and the chance to grow as the fleet and team scale.
• Salary is $100,000-$140,000 plus meaningful equity, with competitive benefits.
