Job summary

Machina Labs is seeking a Robotic Process Engineer to advance RoboForming, our robotic sheet metal forming process, by converting CAD designs into robot tool paths and optimizing forming strategies. You will work with the RoboCraftsman system and software to translate designs into executable paths and study forming feedback.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in manufacturing, robotics, or prototyping environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software and robot/tool path generation.
• Strong data analysis skills (MATLAB, Python, advanced Excel).
• Experience with industrial robots (FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
• Ability to work in open-ended problem spaces and document results.

Responsibilities

• Generate and modify CAD models for RoboForming compatibility.
• Convert CAD to robot tool paths for RoboCraftsman execution.
• Analyze RoboForming data and 3D scans to assess part quality.
• Design and run structured experiments to optimize forming parameters.
• Collaborate with product, software, and manufacturing engineers to improve workflows.
• Engage with customers on technical aspects and project goals.
