Roadway/Transportation Project Manager

Location: Raleigh, NC

Type: Full-Time/Regular

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering all project objectives, including scope, schedule, and budget, for assigned projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, accounts receivable, and manpower requirements; prepare invoices.
  • Develop Project Management plans for assigned projects.
  • Establish project pricing and budgets.
  • Create and maintain project schedules.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans.
  • Develop and coordinate project scope.
  • Manage subconsultants.
  • Participate in client presentations.
  • Oversee and manage assigned staff working on projects.
  • Manage all technical resources on the project team.
  • Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals.
  • Coordinate marketing proposals with Section Heads, Office Managers, and Practice Leaders.
Nonessential Functions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Skilled with Bentley MicroStation and associated design software.
  • Familiar with Open Roads Designer Software.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • 10+ years' experience in developing roadway/highway plans.
Preferred Experience
  • CAPM or PMP certification.
  • Experience working with local clients at county and state levels.
  • Project management and business development experience.
  • Experience with multiple project delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3.
  • Managing multidiscipline project teams.
Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in a general office environment (95%). Field work may be required occasionally, conducted outdoors in various weather conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be necessary.
